Originated from the concept of a Spa and relaxation the Six Senses Laamu is all about to reconnect with yourself, others and the world around you. Six Senses Laamu is the only resort on the virtually uncharted Laamu Atoll in the Maldives. The luxury resort stands out with a great eco friendly atmosphere well integrating creative use of wood and glass construction. This 5 * resort has been designed to blend in with the island natural beauty.
The resort is a combination of on-land and over-water villas with outstanding natural beauty, powder white sand, lush tropical vegetation and crystal clear waters. Six Senses Laamu is a trendy escape ideally suited to luxury surfers.
Far out in the middle of the Indian Ocean lies our most favourite atoll Laamu. It is home to the beautiful and remote, yet easily accessible by plane and boat from Malé, Six Senses Laamu. It is set in a lagoon where dolphins swim along the sandy shoreline.
With villas set over-water and on the palm-fringed island, there are all the creature comforts, plus a choice of overwater lounges and restaurants and amazing excursion experiences.
The Six Senses house reef frequently offers a couple of quick, rippable lefts which are a short, convenient paddle from the resort beach. Beginners may also enjoy their very own separate wave right off the island beach. Across the channel and within view of the resort, the mighty Yin Yangs can, on its day, deliver one of the most powerful and perfect right-hand barrels in the country. The atoll contains several other waves – some extremely close, others accessed by a half hour boat ride.
There are several good breaks around this area. As a guest at Six Senses Laamu you will have a choice of between 2 to 4 different breaks depending on the conditions. The local onsite boat guides are super knowledgeable and always willing to take you to the right spot on the right day. The resort has several boats to deliver you right up to the doorstep of this magic break.
The waves in the Maldives are usually small, from chest high to head high, but on good occasions the waves go well overhead and the swells will hit with some power. The best time for surfing is from April to October when wind and swell are at their optimum.
The biggest advantage of this region is the water: clear, warm, uncrowded, clean, full of life and not to be missed by any adventure-loving person. Come sea for yourself and experience the magic of the Maldives.
A short bicycle ride on the weathered timber jetties will lead you to Six Senses’ famous Water Villa overwater heavens, secluded by high wooden enclosures. With direct access to the sea, you can jump in for a swim or snorkel or relax on the overwater netting hammock. Some prefer the Beach Pool Villas which are neatly hidden amongst the lush flora of the island. For families the private beach access 253 sqm Family Pool Villas are an absolute hit.
The over-water villas are the top-shelf experience in privacy and comfort. They are the personal choice of Mahalo Surf Experience. Watch the tropical world go by and soak up the bliss that is the Maldives. Sitting directly over the water, watching the sunset and sipping your drink of choice is nothing less than a perfect moment. Cool breezes at night and the sound of the waves lull you to a deep wonderful sleep, giving you the rest you need to do it all over again the next day.
The beach bungalows scattered throughout the compound are a beauty. Six Senses Laamu does a real luxury version of the classic Robinson Crusoe beach style. The rooms just off the beach are very private and separated by beautiful foliage. The architecture is truly artful, combining rustic beach bungalow with modern features, including entertainment systems and mini-bars all hidden behind beautiful wooden walls. Given the outdoor and indoor bathrooms, private plunge pools and top-end beds and linens, you may never want to leave your room.
Barefoot serenity! White sand, turquoise water, untouched beaches and lush vegetation. The resort offers an individual and natural style along with a wonderful sense of privacy.
All accommodations provide an environmentally sustainable yet well-appointed interior design with spectacular water views. Every little detail has been carefully considered and designed with a minimalistic touch.
Upon arrival at Malé (MLE) International Airport you will take a 35-minute flight that gives you a bird’s eye view of the beautiful Maldives archipelago.
You will be met by your butler who will accompany you on the 15-minute speedboat ride to the resort.
