Life StyleSustainability

Sustainability, substance and style are the core elements behind these ‘Tailors of Sunshine’. Every pair of Riz shorts are crafted from 100% recycled and recyclable fabrics (plastic bottles).

It’s 2018, which means understanding how our consumption affects the environment is fundamental. A quick Google search will tell you a lot about the brands you love, including whether or not they care about protecting the earth with ethical values, providing fair treatment and a positive culture for workers.

Mahalo Surf Experience and Riz Boardshorts team up together to bring more awareness about sustainability, promoting and supporting the preservation of the ocean environment. “There’s a lot going on in the world today, so now more than ever, we should celebrate the brands that are actually doing good”.

We are stoked to introduce to all Mahalo Surf Experience friends and clients a company that gives back to the world through efforts such as sustainability, conservation, fair trade, and more. Riz boardshorts, the London-based men’s tailored swimwear brand, designs and produces all their shorts with 100% recycled and recyclable fabrics. Their simple mission – crafting the worlds most soulful and sustainable swim shorts. With prints inspired by endangered species and nature their message constantly re-enforces the need to protect what we love.

Riz boardshorts are made from recycled plastic bottles and is 100% recyclable through our ‘Rizcycling’ program – “Every piece of every design, including zippers, trims and drawstrings are all made from 100% recycled and recyclable components. The brand offers a 25% discount on a new pair of boardshorts when customers return any old and unwanted boardies, helping to create a closed loop system that transforms waste and worn out surfwear into new products.”

Riz boardshorts are great! We are stoked to have the opportunity spread this spirit and help to create awareness in the world. Slowly the market is changing and the conciousness is shifting from focusing on the price to the importance of sustainability and supporting the ecosystem.

We are proud to be part of this wave of change that sets our planet and the oceans first by buying less, but buying better.

Aloha and MAHALO!
